See How I Drive Traffic To A Brand New Blog

Posted by Sant Qiu in : Web Traffic on October 7, 2007 , trackback

It’s time to drive traffic here. And this will be fun!

Couple of weeks ago I installed this brand new blog. And this gives me an opportunity to start applying some of the traffic generation strategies to see how fast I can drive traffic to this new blog. So I’m gonna set myself the “Traffic Generation Challenge” for my brand new blog!

I would’ve started driving traffic here earlier, unfortunately just couple of days after I installed this blog, it crashed! I was trying to upgrade my wordpress to the latest 2.3 version and I must have done something wrong. The whole blog just crashed. Since I’m technically challenged, it took me quite a while to get it back up. But even now there are some bugs that need to be fixed.

    Here’s where I’m starting at:

Sant's blog ranking on 7 oct

Initial unique visitors in SeptInitial unique visitors in Sept '07

    Sant's blog traffic graph

As you can see at the moment my blog is having an Alexa ranking of 2,641,133 and Google Pagerank of 0/10. It only attracted 20 unique visitors last month Sept. And the past few months traffic has been non-existent. So this is really a great time to experiment.

In the next few days I’ll be applying some proven traffic convergence strategies. I will share with you what I did and the kind of results I’m getting. With my busy schedule I won’t be posting daily. Probably a few times weekly. With that kind of limitations, it would be interesting to see how fast I can go up in rankings by the end of the month.

So if you’re interested to know how I will fare, and maybe learn some of the strategies that might be useful for your own site, then bookmark this blog. (Sorry, as you can see, I’ve not even started with the social bookmarking stuffs, so you need to press Ctrl + D to bookmark this blog.)

Or if you have some powerful strategies that have worked for you, share them with me in the comments section. If I use them I will definitely credit you in my future posts.

    Cheers!
