Quality Traffic VS Quantity Traffic

As I apply various strategies to drive traffic to my blog I can see that there are huge differences between Quality traffic (targeted) vs. Quantity traffic (huge numbers but might not be targeted). Depending on the purpose of your blog, one or the other will be more useful for you.

Quantity traffic:

Many of the traffic strategies I see being shared in articles, blogs and forums are geared to generate quantity traffic. That is driving massive spike of traffic to a site or a blog. This will results in a huge jump in visitors and your blog ranking will suddenly jump.

Many bloggers do this to get good ranking and visitor stats. However, most of the time these type of traffic won’t become loyal readers / subscribers to your blog. Following is one of the ways you can do this: (more…)

Traffic Generation Challenge 4: Article Marketing & Forums

This is the fourth part of my “Traffic Generation Challenge” where I document my efforts of driving massive to this brand new blog from scratch, with little technical knowledge.

Frankly I have been busy with other project commitments that I’ll be launching in the next couple of weeks, however, visitors to my blog keep increasing consistently. My blog ranking has also improved steadily. 

This result probably reflects more accurately of someone who is starting out blogging part-time, compared to those who are doing this full-time. And if you’re doing this full-time, imagine how much better you can do. Interestingly, as my ranking climbs up, the jump in ranking is not as dramatic as when I was just starting. This is because now the ‘competition’ is getting stiffer. And as my blog goes up higher in ranking, I foresee this trend to continue.

There are still 2 days left before the end of the month, when I will tally the improvement that I’ve achieved within the past 20 days of the “Traffic Generation Challenge”.

The next step in the process is to do some article marketing and commenting in relevant, highly-ranked, forums and blogs.

Traffic Generation Challenge 3: The Start Of Marketing Outreach

This is the third part of my “Traffic Generation Challenge” where I document my efforts of driving massive to this brand new blog from scratch, with little technical knowledge.

In my previous post, I explained that I’ve provided some good content for my target market-entrepreneurs and business owners, to ensure that my blog adds value to the people who arrive at it. I’ve also added a way for them to subscribe to my blog to increase the chances of them coming back to my blog again and again.

I’ve also added a few plugins to make the blog more user-friendly for both the readers and myself. While there are still a lot more plugins that I can use (there are literally thousands of good plugins available for free, the key is to know which ones are useful for you), for now the ones I’m using are enough.

As I mentioned in my previous blog, when you’re jumping into a new project (such as blogging), I think it’s important  to learn from others who is an expert and know what they are doing. That’s why I recommend using guidebooks and modeling successful blogs. Traffic Generation Challenge 2: Setting Up Onsite SEO & Content

This is the second part of my “Traffic Generation Challenge” where I attempt to drive massive traffic to my brand new blog starting from zero, with little technical knowledge.

There are still a lot to do if I’m to reach my target of getting ranked 150,000 by the end of the month. I realized that it’s really a stretch. I’m not even sure whether Alexa or Google will be able to record and reflect the changes within such a short period of time. But we’ll see how it goes. The traffic stats will still be recorded and I will reveal that at the end of the month.

The past few days I’ve been following Gobala’s Wordpress+Adsense System proves to be a very useful guidebook. It goes in-depth and explains what needs to be done AND how to do it. And it covers much more than just using Adsense in your blog. In fact, if you’re starting a new blog this guidebook is critical for you to start on the right foot. I am learning a lot of things I wouldn’t even know (and would’ve lost out because of it) if I’m not following it. I highly recommend it.
